Frequently Asked Questions

What is included with the free dev/test license?

Dev and test licenses include all 12 ArchiveLink functions, all cloud storage backends, and all deployment options. They are limited to 5 content repositories and display a watermark in the admin dashboard. They never expire.

How does licensing work? Do you phone home?

No phone-home. The license key is a cryptographically signed token that encodes your tier, repository limits, and expiry. The server validates it offline during startup. Your data never leaves your infrastructure.

What happens when my license expires?

The server switches to read-only mode. All existing documents remain fully accessible (get, docGet, search). Write operations (create, update, append, delete) are blocked until you renew. This ensures SAP compliance — archived documents must always remain accessible.

Can I switch plans later?

Yes. You can upgrade at any time and we'll prorate the difference. Downgrades take effect at the next renewal. Contact support for plan changes.

Do you offer invoicing for enterprise customers?
